Hello, I am trying to find out if anyone has the ability to homeschool my child for me. I know this sounds crazy, but he is just not getting the attention that he needs in public school and I am not able to quit my job. It is what I want more than anythign but is just not possible right now. My son spend Preschool in a gifted program and he is already "talking while the teacher is talking" and getting in trouble. Anyone know of any programs like this? If so, please email me at lmurphy(at)gtri.com Tank you!

I think hs law says the parent/guardian must be the major teacher, but if you child is under the age of 7 (or it may have changed to 6), you can do whatever you wish. A Montessori charter school gifted coordinator said they have a lot of gt kids there (5 years ago) and I think gt kids do better with Montessorri because they can move at their own pace and work independently (at least part of the time). Homeschooling is wonderful, but if you can't, you could check with a local Montessori. Also, try www.hoagiesgifted.org for more info (I'm drawing a blank on other sites!) Best Wishes! Sheila
