We are in the process of relocating to Denver from Dallas and we will begin homeschooling when we get there (new adventure for us). We have 3 sons and I'm trying to locate some homeschooling support groups and co-ops that can help us get started. We are currently looking for houses in the Jefferson county area - Evergreen, Morrison, etc. Is this too far out from where most of your events take place?
Thanks so much, Michele mgf@forceworld.com

It really isnt, but it depends how much driving you are wanting to do. I drive to Evergreen once a week and from my house its about 30 min in heavy traffic (Friday nights, when all the skiers and campers are going to the mountains). Morrison would be closer than Evergreen. I live in about the middle of alot of our activities (west edge of Centennial). We have alot of members that are in southern Jeffco.

Our group is also all run and planned by members, so if you plan an activity it can be in your area. Our family travels all over for activities and I know we are not the only ones

Hi Michele! We have 3 boys as well, aged 17, 10, and almost 6 (plus a girl, just turned 2!) and I'm wondering how old yours are!!! To answer your question, I echo Aimee's response. For us driving is no big deal. We are renting in Centennial, about 10 minutes south of Aimee, for the next 1-2 years, then looking to buy in the area you mention!!! We drive to Golden once a week, and that takes about 35 minutes, and we drive to Broomfield once a month, sometimes twice, and that's 45. Most of the MHHer's are centered in the Littleton Centennial area, I'm pretty sure, but I know one very active family who lives in Aurora. I'm pretty new (since Summer '08) to both MHH and Denver, so I'm not the best person to answer, I guess! In short, we homeschool, will travel!!! Hope to meet you soon, Kate
